EDCM are pleased to have successfully delivered the combined Landlord’s and Tenant’s works for the GKN Hybrid Power Research and Manufacturing  facility at Abingdon in Oxfordshire. A key feature of the project was the requirement for a new dedicated 1000kVA sub station to deliver  the GKN’s enhanced power requirements.

GKN is at the forefront of hybrid flywheel technology within motorsports. In April 2014 GKN announced that it had acquired Williams Hybrid Power from Williams Grand Prix Engineering Ltd and in the same year it received funding from a joint government and automotive industry fund for projects to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
